Saint Clair 2016 Gimblett Gravels Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot-Malbec Red (Hawke's Bay)

Cellar Selection

A full-bodied, Cabernet-dominant Bordeaux blend, this wine is classic Hawkes Bay. On the nose, ripe dark berry fruit swirls with chocolate, warm stones, bay leaves and that characteristically Gimblett Gravels graphite character. The palate is densely packed with plush dark fruit wound tightly with grainy tannins and showing a good lick of oak influence. Give this time to knit together, but it should age nicely in the bottle until 2029 or longer. Christina Pickard
