A gold color and oily aromas of apricot and orange blossom are intriguing but also indicative of wine that has quickly gone past its prime. A skins-driven palate is chunky and viscous. Honey and dried stone-fruit flavors precede an oxidized finish. In many ways, this is more like late-harvest Riesling or Pinot Gris than typical Chardonnay. Michael Schachner
