Samsara 2017 Chardonnay (Sta. Rita Hills)

Toasted almonds, seared lemon peels and toasted brioche show on the inviting and nutty nose of this bottling, one of the winery's first white wines. There is great tension to the sip, where stony qualities lead into nectarine and citrus-spiked lemon-verbena tea flavors, with intriguing herbal tones throughout. Matt Kettmann
