Pours a dark mahogany color with a small coffee-colored head. The aromas are immediately rich and intense: Notes of sweet roasted malt, caramel and dried figs abound with a peaty smokiness in the background. Full and weighty in the mouth, the strong malt backbone conquers all on the palate with hops making only a faint appearance. A touch of peppery spice shines through on the close.
