Sold as a part of the brewery's Cabin Pack variety 12-pack, this beer is back after years of hiatus and winning the 2015 Sam Adams Brewers Vault contest (where drinkers were asked to choose which SA beer to bring back). It's a rich and full-bodied selection, with pronounced aromas and flavors of caramel, malt, roasted nuts, hot chocolate mix and dried red fruits, like dates and raisins. Ample carbonation keeps the palate from feeling too dense or heavy, while an attractive thread of spicy smoke weaves throughout, appearing strongest on the sweet and decadent finish.
