San Carlo 1999 Brunello di Montalcino

The closed nose offers a slight paint or chemical aroma that hopefully will subside with aging. Very tight and dry on the palate, with cherry notes and strong hints of black pepper. Fairly lean and basic Brunello, with medium-level oak. Of note: Very little of this wine (about 20 cases) makes it to the U.S. Michael Schachner
