San Nicolas 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (Curicó Valley)

Quite a bit of bramble and horsehide on the nose leads to a sketchy whole, while a palate that's dominated by red berries is muddled by mild herbal notes and a touch of peppery bitterness. Has commendable balance and weight but doesn't register as entirely clean and ripe. Michael Schachner
