Santa Barbara Winery 2009 Petite Sirah (Santa Barbara County)

Pretty rustic, even for a rustic variety like Petite Sirah. The tannins are unusually hard, making the tongue stick to the palate, an astringency underlined by complete dryness. Still, there's a solid core of berries and raisins. Drink it with a tri-tip steak.
