Santi 1999 Solane (Valpolicella Classico)

A tired, browning hue is confirmed on nose and palate, where citrus rind and leather mix with fast-fading dried cherry fruit. The finish is dry and herbal. For a '99 this seems prematurely aged, yet it has some of the better qualities of an older wine: texture, tannins and leather.
