Santo Stefano 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma County)

Has a decent texture on the palate, but some difficult earthy, even horsey aromas are hard to get past. The sweet currant, chocolate, and espresso flavors that follow are pleasant, and the wine finishes dry, with chalky tannins and a bitter cocoa note.
