Saucelito Canyon 2015 Muchacho Red (San Luis Obispo County)

A rugged blend of 50% Zinfandel, 35% Tempranillo and 15% Petite Sirah, this bottling by the Greenough family shows concentrated aromas of black plum and black currant alongside tobacco and leather on the nose. It's thick and ripe on the palate, but balanced enough, offering powerful black-fruit flavors wit pinches of sage and incense. Matt Kettmann
