Saviah 2018 Tempranillo (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

Editors' Choice

Syrah gets most of the spotlight in the Rocks District, but other varieties—such as Tempranillo—can be thrilling there. With fruit coming from Funk, Dugger Creek and Watermill Estate, the aromas boast notes of orange twist, black olive brine, soot, plum and herb—it's thoroughly intriguing. Sultry, palate-coating flavors follow. It's a big-time winner. Sean P. Sullivan
