Prior to this vintage, Negre has been a midlevel introduction to Priorato. But this bottling brings the goods and more. Floral berry aromas show Band-Aid and rubber scents, but not too much. Cassis, black cherry and blackberry flavors finish with drive, youthful heat and notes of spice and chocolate. A strong value; drink through 2018.
