Extremely light in color in the glass, this bottling of a 40-year-old vineyard block is an old vine masterpiece, starting with aromas of crisp, underripe raspberry, tart carnation and orange rind aromas. It's fresh, light, lovely and very quaffable on the palate, where pomegranate juice is sprinkled with dried oregano and a pinch vanilla dust. The acidity is clean and balanced.
