Schäfer-Fröhlich 2017 Vulkangestein Trocken Riesling (Nahe)

While light-footed and zesty, this profoundly mineral wine packs a bold punch of piercing lemon-lime flavors edged by dramatic tangs of salty minerals, crushed earth and flint. It's a dry, linear wine that's ready now but opens with aeration and is likely to hold well through 2040 in the cellar. Anna Lee C. Iijima
