This vintage of Grenache is quite reductive on the nose, with sweaty, stalky notes on the nose. Between the cracks can be glimpsed ripe, almost synthetic, red berries, vineyard floor and dense oak characters. Things improve on the palate. While the acidity feels a little forced, it buoys the ripe fruit, although the tannins are drying and raspy, standing in their own corner rather than integrating into the wine. Christina Pickard
