Schild Estate 2017 Narrow Road Vineyard Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon (Barossa Valley)

Cellar Selection

The color of raspberry juice, this premium, small production Shiraz is drinking well now, despite its youth and clear intent to cellar. The nose is open and appealing, a big bouquet of red berries, oranges, tree sap, flower stems, bay leaf, peppercorn and charred wood. Aromas flow into flavors on a palate that's powerful but has the brakes on. Texturally there's a nice play between tangy red fruit and taut, chalky tannins. Drink 2021–2035. Christina Pickard
