Schramsberg 1994 Blanc de Noirs Late Disgorged Sparkling (Napa-Mendocino)

Cellar Selection

LD Blancs de Noirs are rare. The trick is to take the heaviness of all that lees and and Pinot Noir fruit and transmute it into elegance. Schramsberg displays a sure hand. The wine is still leesy and oaky, and certainly acidic, but despite its age, it should coast easily through the next 10 years and beyond, mellowing with each passing year.
