Petroluem product complexities abound in this fairly dry offering. Smells a bit like diesel oil—maybe even home heating oil—then takes on mineral notes akin to oil-shale deposits. It's relatively full-bodied and viscous, a far cry (as it should be) from its Mosel Riesling cousins. —J.C.
