Sequoia Grove 2003 Chardonnay (Carneros)

There's lots of flamboyant, ripe fruit here, concentrated and intense in papayas, pineapples, pears and lime custard. The oak is of equal heft, sweet and spicy in vanilla and woodsap flavors. The wine's a little awkward at this time. It could knit together and turn elegant in a year or so.
