Sequoia Grove 2012 Chardonnay (Napa Valley)

The trick with this wine is to keep it dry and elegant without being austere and uninteresting. The wine straddles that delicate border. It is indeed dry, with suggestions of oak influencing the apricot and tangerine fruit. But it can't quite overcome a certain rusticity.
