Made from 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot, this leads off with aromas of exotic spices, incense and blue flower along with toasted sensations. The palate delivers ripe black cherry, espresso, roasted coffee bean and black pepper along with a hint of orange peel. It's brooding and tightly tannic so give this a few more years. Drink 2015–2019.
