Seven Hills 1999 Syrah (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

This Washington Syrah's backbone is ripe blackberry—on the nose, the berry is muted slightly by a powdery Sweet Tart-cocoa aroma. On the palate, the fruit is bolstered by earth and oak flavors. Juicy berries come to the fore again on the long finish. A smooth and appealing wine, if not supremely complex.
