The aromas of this wine are focused on warm spice, cracked black pepper, camp fire and earthy forest floor. There is a lingering wild berry aroma peeking out but it is blanketed by the other tones. The palate is dominated by flavors of tobacco leaf, raw oak and a ton of black pepper with only a mild suggestion of raspberry. The mouthfeel is smooth and the tannins are not overly drying or aggressive, while the acidity is surprisingly spry. Fiona Adams
