At first, the Damilano seemed fairly non-descript; a little fruit and earth, a tight short palate and little finish. But once it had been swirled and aired, it became more interesting; the fruit became more pronounced showing an attractive apricot and floral quality, while the earthiness became smoky and nutty. The wine still finished a little short, but overall an attractive package.
