Jordan Stellenbosch 2017 Cape Winemakers Guild CWG Chardonnay (Stellenbosch)

Winemaker: Gary Jordan. Toasty melon, wood-grilled apple, honeycomb, buttered toast and clove-spiked orange flood the nose and mouth of this rich and robust Chardonnay, but with good measure. It's bold and flavorful, but balanced by a good cut of acidity to keep it all in check and from feeling overly fat or filling. The oak overlay carries through to the long finish, with decadent flourishes of sweet spice, apple pie and peach pit.
