Krutz 2010 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Some ageable Cabs are also drinkable on release. Not this one. It's just too tannic. The astringency stings the palate, making the acidity feel more pronounced, and effectively smothering the fruit. But it's good, rich blackberry fruit. Already throwing some sediment, the wine should begin to come into its own around 2018.
