This small-batch wine is made with minimal intervention from the hard clay and limestone soils of proprietor and winemaker Brad Hickey's home block of vines. Like many of Hickey's reds, it's dense, aromatic and tannic, needing a few more years in bottle. Currently it's spicy in aromas of orange bitters, cumin, black cherries, black olives, florals and char. The palate is dense and round, with powerful, vice-like tannins. Drink 2020–2030.
