Dr. Heger 2014 Vorderer Winklerberg Ihringen GG Spätburgunder (Baden)

This is a gorgeous Pinot Noir sourced from the sun-drenched, volcanic terraces of the Grand Cru Vorderer Winklerberg Vineyard. It's rich and mouthfilling but nuanced, too, accented by perfumed hints of violet, lavender and mint and a distinctly smoky, volcanic undertone. Powerful but pure, it finishes long on fine, persistent tannins. Still vibrant tasted in 2020 but likely to gain complexity through 2040 at least.
