Shelter Bay 2019 Stitch Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

This Sauvignon starts reductively, with overpowering sweaty onion and struck match aromas. But give this time in glass and this fades, replaced by subtle peach, citrus and green herbal aromas. The palate is better overall. There's a balance of texture and acidity and a refreshing stone fruit character that flows through to the finish. Christina Pickard
