Siduri 2011 Hirsch Vineyard Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)

The vineyard is in such an extreme location that its Pinots, always interesting, vary in quality. Siduri has long experience with the grapes, but this wine, good as it is, is not one of their greatest. While it's dry, tart and wonderfully elegant, concentration is lacking, no doubt due to the difficult vintage. The flavors are of herb tea, raspberries, Dr. Pepper cola and pomegranates.
