Silvan Ridge 2001 Del Rio Vineyard Syrah (Rogue Valley)

Southern Oregon is working hard on growing Syrah, and this is a promising effort. Thick, hard tannins are characteristic of this vineyard's fruit, which has a tight, concentrated core of cherry liqueur. It's young, hard and tart, but promising. Give it time. Paul Gregutt
