Lovely oak spice, licorice, rooibos, black currant leaf, boysenberry and blackberry preserves all form the nose of this deep, layered wine. It's medium-plus in weight, with a texture like crushed velvet, thanks to plush yet structuring tannins and ample black-fruit flavors. It's well-balanced and hard to resist, though it should mature well through 2029. Lauren Buzzeo
