Sirromet 2016 Terry Morris Signature Collection Cabernet Sauvignon (Granite Belt)

Painfully few wines from the mineral-rich, high-elevation Granite Belt region of Queensland make it stateside. So it's a pleasure to taste one with such personality and with a bit of bottle age to boot. Heady aromatics like potpourri waft from the glass: cloves, bay lead, red berries and ground pepper. The palate is tangy and fresh with savory undertones. Tannins are a little drying in the mouth, but the fresh acidity, tangy fruit, spice and mineral notes make up for it. Drink now.
