Sleight of Hand 2018 The Conjurer Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

Editors' Choice

Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) takes the lead on this wine, followed by Cabernet Franc (35%), Merlot (24%) and Petit Verdot (1%). The aromas are brooding, with notes of steeped Earl Gray tea, whole green pepper, tobacco leaf and cedar. Plump cherry flavors follow, tightly coiled at first, then unfurling over time. The balance is lovely. It drinks beautifully now but will only get better with some time in the cellar. Sean P. Sullivan
