This doesn't succeed quite as well as the previous two vintages, and the price has gone up a bit to boot. Drinking like a rustic table wine, cranberry-raspberry notes mingle with a soy-sauce yeastiness, eucalyptus and green herbs. The palate is wound tight with savory tannins, tart fruit and a green-herb tinge. Its lack of polish is appreciated in a region that focuses much attention on this, but for the moment anyway, it's a little sharp-edged and unforgiving. Christina Pickard
