Snowy Peaks 2017 Mourvèdre (Grand Valley)

A fresh cracked black pepper aroma leaps from the glass, while wild berries and herbs linger in the background of this light-colored red. More cracked black pepper shows up on the palate, propped up by flavors of tart cherry and pomegranate. Tannins sit in the back of the mouth, but tons of acidity washes the palate of any grittiness. Savory herbs round out the finish alongside red plum and fallen leaves. Fiona Adams
