Sokol Blosser 2017 Old Vineyard Block Pinot Noir (Dundee Hills)

From a site replanted in 2007, this is a stiff, earthy, herbal wine that comes across initially as rather charmless. Flavors of beet and berry don't compensate for the overall stemminess. The finish is tight and thins out quickly, though with aggressive aeration it opens up a bit. Paul Gregutt
