Sol Rouge 2017 Gypsy Rouge Red (Lake County)

Editors' Choice

A rather light, dusky-red color previews earthy, spicy, gamy aromas in this adventurous, complex, full-bodied and smooth-textured wine made from mostly Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes. The palate is layered with sour-cherry, black-pepper and cooked strawberry flavors that mingle nicely with beef jus and cloves, leading to a lingering finish. Jim Gordon
