91pointsSoléna 2009 Willakia Vineyard Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills)

Planted in 1998, this vineyard is relatively new to Soléna's lineup. Plenty of toast and Bourbon-barrel scents lift the open, with a hint of sharpness from the alcohol. Though only a quarter of the barrels were new, the spice and coffee accents are in full display, wrapped around tart red fruits. An earthy bottom, hinting at forest and mushroom, completes the experience. Paul Gregutt
