This is supersmooth from start to finish, having been barrel-fermented in one-quarter new French oak. Roughly two-thirds underwent malolactic fermentation, leaving enough acidity to complement the peach and melon flavors with a burst of lime and bright apple. The lingering finish adds toasted hazelnuts and a pat of butter. Drink 2020–2026. Paul Gregutt
