Soter NV Estates Brut X Sparkling (Willamette Valley)

‘X' marks the spot for one the finest American sparkling wines I've ever encountered. This certified biodynamic and organic blend of estate Pinot Noir (70%) and Chardonnay (30%) is 40% reserve wines and 60% the 2017 vintage. From its white-gold color to its long, citrusy finish, this is brilliant, complex stuff. Aromas of Golden Delicious apples, white peaches, saline and white chocolate lead into flavors such as fresh-baked sourdough bread, honey-fermented ginger and Meyer lemons. The wine's mousse is gentle while the acidity is on the brisk side. The Brut X was disgorged in April 2021. Michael Alberty
