Spangler 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (Oregon)

This pure Cabernet teeters on the edge of volatility, but avoids diving over the brink. Polished blue and black fruits are framed with stiff phenolic tannins. The darker herbal nature of the grape is emphasized here, adding texture and depth to the finish. For those who appreciate a style of Cabernet more like the Old World than the new, this is spot-on.
