Spangler Vineyards 2005 Merlot (Southern Oregon)

Southern Oregon Merlot, it can be argued, should taste exactly like this—light and pretty cherry fruit, tart acids and lush, chocolaty tannins. For me the tannins way out-strip the fruit, which is delicate to the point of semi-invisibility. It's a pleasant wine, clean and true to its regional style. Paul Gregutt
