This is 42% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot. The careful blend and great vineyard sources are somewhat obscured by the almost-15% alcohol, and some stemmy flavors manage to creep into the finish. Herb, barrel spices and rather austere red fruits put the emphasis on the Cabernet components.
