Sparkman 2020 Wonderland Grenache (Columbia Valley (WA))

This 86-14 blend of Grenache and Syrah from the Sagemoor, Boushey and Olsen vineyards was aged in French oak, 19% of which was new. The nose is quite floral, with notes of wild roses and mock orange blossoms joining blueberries and wood polish. Flavors like tart dewberries, black cherries and dark-roasted coffee fill the mouth, while tannins and acidity are both on the modest side. Michael Alberty
