Spy Valley 2018 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

This wine is showing a lot of reduction at the moment, blanketed in yeasty, sweaty onion and salt notes. Beneath this lies vegetal notes like green bell pepper and snow pea, along with citrusy touches like lemon, lime and grapefruit. The palate is slippery, sliced through with searing acidity and crisp citrus flavors. The finish is slightly bitter. Christina Pickard
