This is Merlot-dominant Bordeaux blend is quiet at first, showing dense notes of cherry and plum that come to the fore with aeration. The fruit is underpinned by mint, tobacco and savory spice nuances. There's a lovely tart cherry acidity on the palate and a cinch of powerful, drying tannins, finishing with cherry freshness. A solid, muscular red to pair with protein. Christina Pickard
