St Hallett 2001 Gamekeepers Reserve Shiraz (Barossa Valley)

A blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Touriga, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Mourvèdre; winemaker Stuart Blackwell says that the biggest export market for this wine in the U.S. is Houston, of all places, but taste the earth, graham cracker and spice that coats the cherry fruit, and Texas barbecue sounds like a darned good idea (though the wine's back label says to drink it with “vegetarian lunches and Friday pizza”). Hey, either way, y'all.
