Staete Landt 2017 Duchess Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

This wine starts bright and citrusy, followed by pineapple, guava, tomato leaf and dried herbal aromas. The palate is less coherent, with acidity that's a bit aggressive and a finish that's abrupt. But a chalky texture and bright fruit suggest this may simply need another year or two in the bottle to knit together. Christina Pickard
